Flowers in Straw.

The color of straw, that is.  This is what I did with this fabric I was embroidering.

I used two colors of embroidery floss that were just slightly different, one number off.  I think if gives it a slightly faded, vintage look.  That is if you can even tell.

Keeping the colors simple and monochromatic make a harmonious juxtaposition between the modern geometric textile and the organic vintage embroidery.

It is a happy marriage framed with gray piping, now cheerfully occupying my sofa.

I used a transfer pattern from this book and repeated three times across the fabric.
